Audition Information
Additional BluesEd Audition Information:
A parent or guardian must accompany musicians and vocalists to the audition.
1. Instruments:
a) Guitarists should bring their guitar and a cord to plug into a supplied amp on stage.
b) Bass guitarists should bring their bass guitar and a cord to plug into a supplied amp on stage.
c) Drummers should bring their own cymbals, snare and sticks. (will receive additional information as needed)
d) Keyboardists should plan to use the supplied acoustic piano or keyboard on stage.
e) Other instrumentalists (horns, harmonica, etc) should bring their instrument.
f) Vocalists : a microphone will be provided.
2. Music:
a) Instrumentalists should be prepared to play something they know of their choice that showcases their understanding of blues and their technical abilities. The auditioning clinician will ask about your knowledge of scales, styles, music experience, etc. Clinicians may also play with you to learn more about your solo playing ability and style.
b) Vocalists: The auditioning clinician will ask about your knowledge of scales, styles, music experience, etc.
Vocalists should be prepared to sing one blues standard, and also a second song of your choice. An accompanist will not be provided. You may sing a cappella or bring a backing track. A 1/8" stereo cord (headphone cord) will be provided on the sound system for you to plug your iPod or other music source into as needed.

3. Costs:
2025 tuition is $500 per student, . Audition fee is $20 in advance, or $40 at the door - reservation still required. These costs are non-refundable. You will be directed for payment after you register for auditions using the link below. The BluesEd season runs from early April through mid-August.
