BluesEd Roots
Returning for the 2025 season for BluesEd is The Roots band! In 2024, BluesEd clinicians and directors made the intentional decision to strengthen the program mission of Keeping the Blues Alive by creating a group of talented young musicians to build upon from the ground up. After auditioning, the young musicians selected receive targeted guidance from the BluesEd clinicians with the goal of performing at gigs with other bands later in the season.
The Roots, a seven member ensemble in 2025, is learning and playing the blues genre based on selections chosen from a pre-defined set of blues music. Band members range from middle school to high school in age with a variety of backgrounds and experiences, participating in various community and school music programs, as well as devoting time to private lessons. The band is excited to learn and grow in the BluesEd program sponsored by the Blues Society of Omaha.
Members of the Roots include:
Irish (vocals)
Trixie (sax)
Jack (lead guitar)
Leo (rhythm guitar)
Arrow (keys)
Casey (bass)
Jordan (drums)
