Need-Based Tuition Waiver for 2024 BluesEd season
Selection Criteria
for
Need-Based Tuition Waiver
BluesEd has a very limited number of tuition assistance waivers to BluesEd
families who genuinely have the need. Current tuition fee is $500 Family of student is still responsible for the membership to the Blues Society of Omaha ($40).
Waiver will be granted based on the following primary criteria:
Family is eligible for the Free or Reduced Lunch Program offered by the Nebraska Department of Education, whether or not your school participates in the program. Eligibility guidelines can be found by clicking on this link:

If the applicant does not meet the above criteria, then
any
of the following three criteria will be used to distinguish qualified applicants:
BluesEd student living in a single-parent household.
Immediate family member currently enrolled full-time in college or post-secondary education for the 2018-2019 academic year.
Sibling currently enrolled in BluesEd.

If applicant does not meet any of the above criteria but feel tuition in BluesEd is a financial hardship for their family, they may seek a payment plan through the BluesEd Treasurer at

. One half of tuition ($250) is due at Kickoff on March 24, 2024 and one half ($250) is due on June 1, 2024.
Student selected for this waiver will be notified prior to BluesEd Kickoff meeting on March 24th. A formal announcement will not be made of the recipient. If you apply for the tuition waiver and are not selected, you will be asked before March 24th if you wish to use the payment plan option. Otherwise, full tuition will be expected at Kickoff. This one-year tuition waiver is not renewable for subsequent BluesEd seasons.
